Lithium batteries provide higher power than the traditional acid-lead and they weigh 50% less.  This gives a better acceleration and agility at sea.  The capacity of lithium to support deep charges make them ideal for nautical applications.

They are safer because they do not emit gases and are therefore more ecological  because they do not produce vapors or pollution.

Maintenance free, a partial charge does not affect the performance.  The low auto-discharge make them perfect for winter storage.

A lead battery has a lower lifespan with high temperatures (above 27º-30º).  A lithium battery can work in much higher temperatures without affecting the lifespan.

SOLAR

Partial charges do not affect the performance of a lithium battery as opposed to a lead-acid battery. Sometimes batteries do not charge completely or they regularly perform in a partial charge state.  In both cases, lithium batteries offer a higher performance and durability.

It is recommended that acid-lead batteries are not discharged more than 50% of capacity in order to prolong the lifespan and performance.  Lithium batteries can discharge up to 100% (manufacturers recommend, for precaution, 80%) with no decrease whatsoever in the duration and performance.

When charging they are up to 99% efficient (against 75%-80% of acid-lead) and they charge quicker.

Maintenance free, the low auto-discharge provides energy even after periods of inactivity.
